Description
One of the Most Esteemed Ayurvedic Herbs!
Ashwagandha, also known as “Indian ginseng,” is a shrub with oval leaves and yellow flowers, bearing red fruits the size of raisins. It originates from arid regions of India but can also be found in North Africa and the Middle East. Today, it is cultivated in areas with predominantly mild climates, including North America.
The Miraculous Plant of Ancient India
Due to its powerful properties, traditionally believed to possess, Ashwagandha has been used in India for thousands of years, but it has only recently gained global recognition. Its traditional use is reflected in the literal translation of its name. The word “Ashwagandha” literally means “smell of a horse” – besides having a mild horse-like smell when fresh, Ayurveda believes that it gives a person the “strength of a horse.”
